.999999…=1?
I was just in a forum about mathematics and science and whatnot (Yeah I’m a geek so what) and I came across a discussion about how the infinite sum .99999… and how mathematicians accepted this number as 1. If you have no idea what I’m saying this consider this simple equation. 1/3 = .33333… infinitely and if you multiply it by 3 you will get one. Now if you really write this out you will see that .3333… x 3 will equal to .999999… but instead we use base 10 law and write it as a 1. Not rounding up I’m talking about two numbers in one. Sure our number system isn’t perfect, but it gets us to where we need to be (kind of). I would not hesitate to case a “Yes” vote for a better numbering system though.
